ERIS runs projects in developing countries to assist local Election Commissions to prepare for elections. We work with grass-roots organisations to promote citizen participation in the democratic process, help prevent election-related violence and empower women and ethnic and religious minorities. Our most recent projects are listed below:
ERIS-CPSU Study: State of Democracy in the CommonwealthERIS has teamed up with the Commonwealth Policy Studies Unit (CPSU) for a study on Democracy in the Commonwealth. The resulting report was launched to coincide with the biennial meeting of Commonwealth Heads of Government on 23 November 2010. | |
Electoral Process Training for Civil Society in ZimbabweERIS and its local partner the Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) launched their project on Electoral Process Training for Civil Society in Zimbabwe in October 2009. The project seeks the restoration of the ZESN domestic observation and civic education capacity through training 20 Electoral Resource Officers nationwide to provide domestic observer and civic education support at the provincial level.
